Tail Lift Battery Guard

Tail Lifts are used with the vehicle engine switched off due to environmental directives.
The amount of current drawn by the tail lift motor can be substantial and can often result in the vehicle suffering a non start situation.
Tail Lift Battery Guard is installed inside the pump housing and constantly monitors the available battery voltage.
The system provides audible and visual warning of low voltage condition two minutes prior to automatically isolating the tail lift to protect vehicle starting power.

  • The Tail Lift Battery Guard has been developed specifically to protect the engine starting batteries from being excessively drained by the tail lift, to a point where there is insufficient voltage to start the vehicle.
    Using the technology from Intellitec’s other Battery Guard products, the Tail Lift Battery Guard monitors the available battery power when the tail lift is in use.

    If the battery voltage drops below 24.1v (12.1v) a four minute voltage sensitive timer is triggered on the ECU.
    If the voltage remains below 24.1 volts uniformly for two minutes, the sounder on the ECU will begin to bleep & the LED will begin to flash.
    Should the Battery voltage remain below 24.1v for a full four minutes, the Tail Lift Battery Guard will isolate the tail lift, to protect starting voltage.

    Once automatic isolation of the tail lift has taken place, the operator must start the vehicles engine to restore power to the tail lift, once the Tail Lift Battery Guard senses the charging voltage has gone above 26.2v, the ECU will automatically reset.
    All connections are made locally inside the power pack, as a retrospective installation the Tail Lift Battery Guard should take no longer than one hour to install.

    Side, Top and Bottom Door Seals

    Due to the larger platform options on this type of lift the lift platform is often used as the door, in these cases a set of seals are fitted to ensure that the Lift platform/doors is weather tight.

    Roll Stops (Built Into Platform)

    Due to its design Cantilever lifts do not need additional ramps to be fitted therefore the Roll Stops are built into the platform with a spring loaded mechanism

    Inner Control

    If required an additional internal control can be fitted

    Automatic Tilting

    An Automatic tilting option is available, this function automatically tilts the platform from fully closed to fully open and from fully open to fully closed positions at the push of a button
